Avoid death bed syndrome and spend time wisely

21-06-10 Cause I'd Rather Pretend I'll Still Be There At The End ~ Explored #1

Time is the one resource that is the same for everyone, we’ve all been given the same 24 hours in a day and we all have been afforded the power of choice to do what we want with that time. Time affects or influences so many of the most important decisions you will ever make in your entire life. Just think of how often you’ve heard:

  • I just don’t have enough time
  • It’s about time you started settling down
  • Isn’t it about time you got serious
  • By the time I’m _____ I want to be ______

Time creates outcasts, misfits, rebels, and troublemakers – If you haven’t finished  school by a certain age there’s something wrong with you, if you don’t make a certain amount of money there’s something wrong with you, if you’re not married by a certain age, if you haven’t had certain experiences, tried specific things, or understand some of life’s nuances there’s something wrong with you.

Keep reading if you’re one of those… stop immediately if you’re not.

Start your day the Limitless way: Easily the most important post I’ve written to date.

Bedruthan sunset

“You have a clean slate every day you wake up. You have a chance every single morning to make that change and be the person you want to be. You just have to decide to do it. Decide today’s the day. Say it; This is going to be my day.” —Brendan Burchard

For the longest time I have been on the hunt for the perfect way to start the day. To maximize energy, mental performance, increase happiness, avoid stress, and increase my productivity. Well I’ve done it. I’ve come up with a routine that I follow most days that guarantees me these things. I’d like to share it with you. I’m darn near certain it will work as well for you as it does for me. My challenge to you… try it and let me know how it goes.

How to recover from a bad decision

indecision dice

A few weeks ago I put myself in a situation in which I made a decision that was not aligned with my authentic self. It went totally against how I try to conduct myself on a daily basis, my morals, virtues, and beliefs. I let myself become influenced by outside sources, my environment, and proceeded to CHOOSE to behave in a manner that I feel was not a representation of the person I am or want to be.

I realize that this was a choice I made and I only have myself to blame. The choice was not necessarily good or bad it simply was a choice that does not represent me.  I pride myself in always making the right decision but somehow, this time I slipped up. It really got me thinking…

Why exactly did I make this decision? What did I do exactly to ignore my true self and act in a manner that I know would disappoint me?

NEW FREE RESOURCE: Fit-Fast Guide

A week or so ago I decided to stop by my local caffeine shop to wake myself up a bit with a shot or two of espresso. No one else was in line when I got there so I walked on up and placed my order, right after doing so a gentlemen walked in or his cell phone, probably a little younger than myself (I’m 32), talking on his cell phone, sort of looked like he was in finance… but who knows.

I turned to the guy and asked him what he was having today, he pulled his phone from his ear real quick and said, “Just a tall drip.” In coffee talk that’s a small coffee. I told him today it was on me and not to worry about it. His eyes opened a bit wider and he looked a little surprised, he asked me “really, are you sure?” I said, “of course brother, no worries.” He thanked me, grabbed his drink and said thank you as he finished his call.

A few moments later my espresso was done and the barista brought it over to me, they actually brought me two. I told them I only ordered one and I was sorry for any confusion. They told me they had charged me for both and were really sorry but to keep the second one – plus they gave me my two bucks back. Wow, I thought to myself, a free drink, score :)
